Do you feel lucky? Well you should because it’s Raffle Time! 

Raffles for Ruffs is officially underway—our annual basket raffle and one of our most impactful fundraisers of the year!

Last year, thanks to supporters like you, we raised over $41,000 in ticket sales. That helped save more than 750 dogs, covering foster care and medical needs while they waited for their forever homes. To put that into perspective, that amount could spay/neuter 300 dogs, provide roughly 3,000 vaccinations, or fund 600 wellness vet visits

And this year, we’ve made it even bigger and better with more than 115 raffle baskets, 9 grand prizes, door prizes, and something for everyone!

Dreaming of a getaway to the Poconos or Vegas? Looking for goodies for your pup, home decor, or kitchen essentials? Want a chance to attend a live taping of Live with Kelly and Mark in NYC? We’ve got it all!

Each ticket for the regular baskets is .80 cents , which equals 20 tickets for $25. Grand prize tickets are $5 each. This year, we also featured three 50/50 raffles, and becasue those did so well, we added a fourth one tickets are still on sale for that one!

Tickets will be on sale until 11:59pm on April 6th, so there’s not a lot of time left. The drawings will be broadcast on TLC’s YouTube channel from 7pm-9pm, on Friday, April 25th (all times are Eastern Standard). You can also watch it on Facebook as well. If you can’t watch the drawings, don’t panic - winners will be notified by email after the broadcast.

Volunteer Spotlight: John Provasnik

John has been a dedicated volunteer with TLC since 2023, bringing both passion and technical expertise to the organization. He first got involved by helping with the TLC website, later expanding his contributions to short-term fostering and supporting the Raffles for Ruffs fundraiser by managing online store listings and web pages.

John’s connection to TLC began years earlier during the adoption of his beloved dog, Sweet Louise, in 2017. After her passing in 2023, he felt inspired to give back in a more meaningful way. That same year, he adopted Zena, continuing his journey with TLC and deepening his commitment to its mission. 

“For me, seeing dogs receive care, treatment, and ultimately find loving forever homes is a constant source of motivation,” says John.

One of his favorite parts of volunteering is witnessing the immediate impact of his efforts—especially during large-scale events like Raffles for Ruffs, where the collective work of volunteers helps so many dogs in a short time.

For those considering volunteering, John encourages attending a TLC info session to learn more about the organization and discover where help is needed. Whether it’s a one-time event or an ongoing role, he believes every contribution makes a meaningful difference—and often inspires volunteers to keep coming back.

Happy Tails: Yeti’s Journey Home 

After 624 days waiting … Yeti is finally HOME.

Yeti’s story began in Mississippi, where he and his five littermates were rescued from a small outdoor pen. Life was unfamiliar, uncertain, and far from the comfort and safety every dog deserves. When he came to TLC , Yeti didn’t yet know how to be a “house dog”, but he was given something even more important: time.

Over the past year and a half, Yeti has been learning what it means to feel safe. With the unwavering support of his foster family and guidance from the team at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates, including veterinary behaviorist Dr. Hauser, Yeti worked through fear and uncertainty using counter-conditioning and desensitization. Step by step, he began to trust the world around him.

And as that trust grew, so did the real Yeti.

The goofy, toy-loving, cheese-obsessed boy who melts into his people once he feels safe. The dog who discovered the joy of couches and cozy beds… and also claimed the bathtub as his own personal “zen den” when he needed a quiet reset. The pup who loves running outside, riding in the car, and leaning on his dog friends for comfort and confidence.

Yeti made incredible progress, learning to walk on leash, settling comfortably in a crate, and navigating new experiences with growing bravery. He showed us, every single day, that even the most unsure dogs can bloom with patience and love.

And this week… someone saw him. Truly saw him.

They saw the progress, the potential, the heart behind those cautious eyes, and they said yes.

Yeti has officially been adopted into a loving, committed forever home where he will continue to grow, feel safe, and be exactly who he is meant to be. 

After 624 days of waiting, his happy ending is finally here.

Stories like Yeti’s don’t happen overnight, and they don’t happen without support.

Every ticket purchased through Raffles for Ruffs helps make journeys like his possible. From behavioral care and training to long-term foster placement, dogs like Yeti need time, resources, and a community that believes they’re worth it.

Because of that support, Yeti didn’t get left behind.

He got his chance.

Paramore and Sugarcult are still waiting for their encore. These two adorable, five-month-old Lab/Border Collie mixes from our “Warped Tour Setlist” litter are patiently waiting to meet their biggest fans.

Paramore is the fearless and social frontwoman of the duo. She might be a little spitfire, but what she brings in bold personality she also matches in loving affection for her people.

Sugarcult is the gentle soul who keeps the vibes steady backstage. He can be social and playful, but he’s known best for his sweet, easygoing personality and loving disposition.

These two are making great progress with their training and get along so well with other pups and people - total crowd favorites in the making! We’re not sure why they haven't been adopted yet, but we’re hoping the right bandmate is out there and ready to make them part of their forever family.
