Some adoption stories are extra special — and Brigette’s is one of them.

This sweet, goofy German Shepherd mix spent over two years in a Mississippi shelter before coming to TLC. Heartworm-positive and overlooked for so long, Brigette’s future was uncertain — but her fosters promised that if there was any way to save her, they would give her a chance. Arriving just before Thanksgiving, she quickly stole their hearts with her zoomies, sparkling eyes, and zest for life.

Brigette spent 302 days in foster care — receiving heartworm treatment, learning what life in a loving home could be, and becoming even more affectionate and playful along the way. She charmed her foster siblings, mastered her manners (mostly — rabbits still tested her!), and became one of the most special dogs her fosters had ever loved.

After three adoption appointments that didn’t work out, Brigette finally met her perfect match — a family seeking a playful yet calm companion for their pup, Shamus. At the same time, they met Sugar, a Chihuahua mix with an unforgettable underbite and a huge personality. Now, Brigette and Sugar live in a home overflowing with love, play, and security.
