Some Happy Tails feel extra special — and Koda’s is one we’ve been waiting a long time to share.

At our Clear the Shelters event, the family we had been hoping and praying for finally walked through the door.

…And they came for Koda.

After everything this sweet boy has overcome, we knew Koda didn’t need just any home. He needed a truly special family — one that would love him endlessly, embrace him exactly as he is, help him live life to the fullest, and cherish every moment they get to spend together. And that family found him.

Koda has faced challenges with his heart, but he has never allowed them to dim his incredible spirit. Through it all, he has remained the same joyful, affectionate, enthusiastic boy who loves people, playtime, snuggles, sunshine and simply being part of whatever is happening around him.

Koda doesn't worry about what makes him different. He just loves life — wholeheartedly.

And now, he gets to love that life alongside a family of his very own.

Watching Koda leave Clear the Shelters with his new family was one of those rescue moments that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. There are dogs who may need a little extra care, a little more patience or a family willing to look beyond a diagnosis, but different needs don't make a dog any less deserving of an extraordinary life.

Koda waited for the right people to see everything we have always seen in him.

They finally walked through the door.

We couldn't have imagined a more perfect ending to Clear the Shelters , or a more deserving Happy Tail.

Happy furever, Koda. Go soak up every snuggle, every sunny afternoon and every beautiful moment with your family. You earned this one, buddy!
