To Love a Canine Rescue Set to Hold 12th Annual Miles for Mutts October 18th at Wilson Farm Park to Benefit Lifesaving Saving Mission and Connect Devoted Families with Loving Dogs
Miles for Mutts the Ultimate Fall Outing for Families and their Furry Friends, Offers Rent-a-Pup for Race Day Participants to Connect with Adoptable Dogs
October 14, 2026
[Malvern, PA] – [October 14, 2026] – To Love a Canine Rescue (TLC) is set to hold their 12th Annual Miles for Mutts 5k run and 1-mile fun walk on Sunday, October 18th, at Wilson Farm Park in Wayne, PA. TLC’s largest fundraiser of the year, all proceeds help raise crucial funds for the organization that will support their lifesaving mission to give dogs in need a better tomorrow – from emergency surgeries to every day veterinary care, training, meals, or even if they just need a little extra TLC. Registration is now open online for locals and those who want to participate virtually.
The ultimate fall outing for families and their furry friends, last year’s annual event had 484 registrants and raised over $40,000 for TLC. Miles for Mutts is much more than just a race in the local community – it is a chance for participants to make a real difference in the lives of rescue dogs. Starting at 9:00 a.m. (check-in begins at 8:00 a.m.) with the 5k run, there will be prizes for the overall first, second, and third place runners in each category and the first place runner in each age bracket and gender category. For those looking to adopt or who are interested in participating in Miles for Mutts with one of TLC’s adoptable dogs, the Rent-a-Pup booth will have 25 plus dogs available. Miles for Mutts is welcome to all dogs whether they are TLC alumni or otherwise and will have awards for the first, second, and third place pup participants.
In addition, this year’s event will also feature the first-ever commemorative medal to celebrate Miles for Mutts and to honor dogs like Koda. A proud TLC foster dog-turned alumni living his best happy tail life with his forever family, Koda will be honored with this year's medal. Koda embodies who TLC is and what they do, demonstrating that TLC will never give up on a dog, no matter what their past includes or what their future has in store. Previously diagnosed with congenital pulmonic stenosis, Koda has surgery last December that unfortunately didn’t work as the rescue hoped, but if you met Koda, you’d never know he had a heart condition because the only thing you’d notice about his heart is just how big and full of love it is. This year, TLC is honoring Koda as a symbol of that promise and, no matter what challenges come his way, he faces each one with a happy, wagging tail.
“Through our Miles for Mutts event, we hope to not only raise money to continue our mission, but also to raise awareness of our organization and connect devoted families with loving dogs,” said Tracy Long, Executive Director of TLC. “With the help of participants from the local community, or those participating virtually, we can continue to save lives…until they all have a home!”
At the 12th annual Miles for Mutts, the fun doesn’t end at the finish line – there will also be crafts and activities for all ages along with sponsor and vendor booths including one for TLC Alumni. In addition, there will be free giveaways to those who attend and exclusive TLC merchandise available for purchase.
This year’s Miles for Mutts top Gold Bone Level sponsors include Young’s Insurance Services, Inc., United Vision Pet Partners, and Angry Beaver Tree Services.
